Holy Week and Easter

Semina Santa, or holy week, and Easter are major holidays in Spanish countries. In Spain it is the most important religious holiday of the year. Street processions are planned every night from palm Sunday to Easter. In some processions in Spain people dress in clothes, similar to that of the Klu Klux Klan, that resemble the NazareƱos, or people from Nazareth. The streets are filled with religiously devout people meditating and grieving in memory of Christ. Many artisans sculpt religious sculptures depicting biblical images in amazing detail. They parade them around town in a silence only broken by trumpets and bugles. It is the most important Holiday/week in Spain.
¡Felices Pascuas! (Happy Easter)
